On the 23rd July, Jake Garrigan (9-D) and David Hopkins (9-B) will both be going up to Sheffield for the 2009 ASA national championships for relays. They will be competing against the best in the country in three events each. They got through to this year’s championships by first qualifying for the south east regionals [...] [...] The Sports leaders had a very successful day delivering a range of sports to Balfour Junior Primary school. All sports leaders succeeded in passing the course and have learnt many new skills to take forward into future careers. Well done to the following: Lloyd Milner, David Roberts, Dominic Rocha, Connor Coburn, Dan Bridges, Jake Sweeney, George [...] [...] Well done to Year 7 Art students who had their work selected for exhibition in the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury. It was great to see students with their families admiring the students’ work, and the work of teachers and training teachers. The papier mâché portrait busts of their favourite people attracted a lot of [...] [...] Sam Cannon has been crowned as the first CGSB Fencing Champion. 16 students from the Fencing Club have been competing in the CGSB Championship over the past term and a half. The first round was a round-robin that determined the seeding for the knockout stages, where all bouts were fought with the school’s newly purchased electric scoring [...] [...] |
