Yr 7 Cross-Curricular Project

Monday 14th June, marked the beginning of the Year 7’s cross-curricular week. This was a result of much planning and effort by staff to provide the pupils with a week of enriching activities, borne out of their normal curriculum. Monday provided pupils with the opportunity to create their own Film posters in Spanish, Japanese or German. Tuesday was the day when the pupils built their own solar power buggies and wind turbines, which they later
raced and competed against one another. On Wednesday, pupils were provided with the opportunity to temporarily live the life of a World War One soldier, assembling their ‘guns’ under the watchful gaze of stern Drill Sergeant Small and learning about life in the trenches. Thursday involved pupils creating their own identity masks and understanding their culture through poetry and how it shapes who they are.  Friday was the finale, with an exhibition of pupils’ work,
‘gun’ run and buggy races and a BBQ for lunch. Pupils excelled themselves during this week and we were incredibly proud of their achievements.
