Junior Mathematics Challenge

The Junior Mathematics Challenge is an annual event aimed at the top third of
students in Year 8 and below.  Approximately 20,000 students participated this year; the top 40% of students nationally receive a gold, silver or bronze certificate and around 1200 of the highest scorers are invited to participate in the Junior Mathematical Olympiad. This year over half of students entered from CGSB received a certificate, with
our students gaining 11 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze certificates. Incredibly, two Year 7 students managed to beat all of their Year 8 counterparts: Gwilym Old and Dominic Stroud both made it to the Olympiad, and Dominic achieved the Best in School certificate with a score of 111 – an outstanding performance by both of them! Many congratulations to all who participated – your conduct throughout the challenge was exemplary.
