On Wednesday 2nd December, our school welcomed a delegation of 19 Headteacher’s and educational officials from Chancheng District, China.  The delegation included Zhao Jun, Vice-Secretary of the Government of Chancheng District, Liu Feihu, Director General of the Education Bureau of Chancheng Province and Deng Yuwen, Deputy Director of the Education Bureau.  Headteachers and advisors from Medway also joined the delegation for a tour of the school and a welcome buffet in the school library.  Robert Paterson of Year 13 welcomed the delegation with a speech in Mandarin and the schools saxophonists entertained the group throughout lunch.  During the afternoon a group of students travelled to Robert Napier School to perform an extract of a Chinese play in Mandarin.  Robert Paterson also performed an extract individually.  This was effectively a rehearsal for the National Chinese Speaking Competition, being held at the London School of Economics on December 15th 2009.
