All pupils in Key Stage 4 follow a statutory, non-examination course in R.S., (Religious Studies). This consists of a single weekly lesson, with a forty-minute homework generally set once a fortnight. Units studied are the Philosophy of Religion, Spiritual aspects of life, Christianity and Judaism.
While this course is separate from the GCSE Religious Studies option it will assist GCSE Religious Studies candidates. The course also helps prepare those pupils who choose to study AS/A2 Religious Studies in the 6th Form. In addition the skills and subject knowledge developed are useful across the curriculum and as such this course can benefit all pupils.
